Focus and Scope

The Boletim do Instituto Oceanográfico publishes scientific contributions on oceanography which include physical oceanography, marine chemistry, marine geology and geophysics, biological oceanography, fishery oceanography and related fields. The contributions will be classified in one of the following categories: a) Article; b) Notes; c) Review.

    Journal History

    The first publication of the Oceanographic Institute in 1950, the Boletim do Instituto Paulista de Oceanografia, has been highlighted as a diffuser of original research in the field of oceanography. Published from 1950 to 1951, in 1952 was called Boletim do Instituto Oceanográfico until 1996.

    From 1996 to 2003, aiming to broaden the dissemination of Revista Brasileira de Oceanografia and finally in 2004, Brazilian Journal of Oceanography for an internacional approach.
