Abstract

This article is an attempt to start a discussion about the potency of the perception of the sense of self to articulate the crisis of representation in performing arts, at the point of friction between presence and identity. From the description of somatic practices for the study of the basic sensations of weight, volume, contour, and movement, as well as the exercise of reenactment as a dispositive for the reading of self, the article seeks to reflect on the possibility of organizing political concepts such as body, promoting the creation of an open field where presence and identity can perhaps be understood in flux and mutually affect each other.
