The project “Dialogues from Pernambuco: Hermilo Borba Filho and the modern dramaturgy in the Northeast of Brazil” aims to study the modernization of the theater in Brazil, focusing on the work of playwrights from Pernambuco. In its first module, the research had as its object the work of Isaac Gondim Filho. In this essay, we discuss the modern fantastic in the play A hora marcada (1955).
