The purpose of this article is to analyze the short film Cova Humana, directed by Joel Caetano, released at festivals in 2019, from the perspective of how the low budget, common in independent horror productions in Brazil, influences the aesthetics of the film. After a brief contextualization of Jeffrey Sconce's Paracinema and the emergence of paracinemic communities in Brazil, we intend to observe through film analysis, using some cinema theorists, the last short film of RZP films, as there was the professionalization of directors of independent horror cinema that appropriated the difficulties of the low budget as aesthetics of their films, leading the narratives of the works through inventiveness.
