INQUÉRITO ALIMENTAR EM UMA ZONA RURAL DO ESTADO DE SÃO PAULO (FAZENDA SÃO FRANCISCO)

A nutrition survey was done m the «Fazenda São Francisco», (Cordeirópolis), State of São Paulo, (Brazil), to know the food consumption of workers and their families from a common type monoagriculturist farm. It was selected a random sample stratified, by origin and income, n=21 families. The method applied was that in what families werc daily visited by seven days, and during the visit the foods that would be eaten on the day wcre weighed prior and after cooking. Results show that in the diet the carbohydrates predominate with impairment of fats. Some difference was seen in the food habits fmm strata, related to the origin: few vcgetagles gardens in the northeast families and poultry livestock in the italian families. Nourishment quality was different from strata to strata anel it was superior in the highest economic levei families. The nourishment was better in the families inquired just after the salary, The nutritive deficit founcl were animal origin proteins, calcium and vitamina A, corresponding to a few consumption of meat and meat products, dairy products, fresh vegetables and fruits. It was concluded that it would be of great value the stablishment of a program of alimentary and sanitary education, teaching the workers and their families the best use from their natural resources, with the possibility to improve the nourishment of the studied community.Downloads
