ALGUMAS OBSERVAÇõES SôBRE O COMPORTAMNETO DA LEISHMANIA BRAZILIENSIS EM CÃES

Abstract

The Authors give the results of observations in researchs of naturally infected clogs anel in the inoculations of these animais hy Leishmania braziliensis. Thirty two animais with iesions of severa] aspects were examinated in severa] cndemic regions of Mucocutaneous Leishmaniasis in the States of São Paulo anel Paraná (Brazil). In none o f these animais it was possible to determme the leishmaniotic nature of the Jesion they had. Twenty six young animais were inoculated with recent isolated cultmes of the parasite. In elght ot them it was possible to observe macroscopic alkrations in the inoculated region. Only in two of them it was possible to find the parasite in 1lll'se lesions. The Authors conclude by little receptlvity of dogs by Leishmania braziliensis infection and consequcntly by its little epidemiologic value in these regions of Brazil.
