Análise funcional e prognóstico de marcha no paciente amputado de extremidade inferior

A amputação da extremidade inferior pode afetar a condição física, psíquica e social de um indivíduo. A reabilitação pré e pós protetização é importante para melhorar a funcionalidade e habilidade de deambulação. Os pacientes devem ser avaliados de forma precisa e para isso existem instrumentos específicos como a Amputee Mobility Predictor (AMP), que é uma escala de fácil aplicação cuja função seria predizer o prognóstico funcional dos pacientes. Objetivo: Avaliar o valor preditivo dos resultados da escala AMP em pacientes submetidos à amputação unilateral da extremidade inferior, que realizaram o tratamento de reabilitação no Lar Escola São Francisco - Centro de Reabilitação entre 2007 e 2010. Método: Foi realizado um estudo longitudinal prospectivo, com a aplicação da AMP em 73 pacientes com amputação unilateral transtibial ou transfemoral antes do programa de reabilitação. Vinte e dois pacientes foram reavaliados após receberem alta da reabilitação. Os dados encontrados foram tabulados e submetidos à análise estatística; nível de significância adotado foi de p ≤ 0,05. Resultados: Houve aumento significativo da pontuação da avaliação inicial e da avaliação final da AMP, tanto no grupo transtibial como no grupo transfemoral. Não houve diferença entre os grupos quanto ao intervalo entre a amputação e o início do tratamento, nem ao tempo de reabilitação. Encontrou-se correlação entre o aumento da idade dos pacientes com menor pontuação da AMP ao final da reabilitação. Conclusão: A escala AMP não foi preditiva em relação à funcionalidade e ao prognóstico de marcha dos pacientes amputados unilateralmente da extremidade inferior que realizaram a reabilitação no Lar Escola São Francisco - Centro de Reabilitação entre 2007 e 2010.
