    Victor Augusto da Cruz Pacheco is a Ph.D. candidate at the Department of Modern Languages, at the University of São Paulo, and his research, financed by the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP), focuses on the representation of black characters in contemporary Irish literature. He also holds a MA degree, funded by CAPES scholarship, and a bachelor’s degree in Spanish and Portuguese (Languages and Literature) from the same institution. He studied at the University of Buenos Aires (Argentina) during an exchange program in 2016. He is the editorial assistant of The ABEI Journal – The Brazilian Journal of Irish Studies. He has been studying Irish literature since 2012 and has published articles about Sean O’Faolain, Jamie O’Neill, Sebastian Barry, Cólm Tóibín, and Pedro Lemebel.
