Resumen

O objetivo principal deste artigo é introduzir o estudante de Medicina no conceito de psicose. Os autores discutem os critérios para o diagnóstico de psicose e fornecem uma visão geral da epidemiologia e dos fatores de risco para transtornos psicóticos, como: trauma na infância, uso de cannabis, migração, discriminação, desvantagem social e cor da pele. A observação desses fatores é essencial na avaliação do paciente psiquiátrico, uma vez que auxilia na predição do desenvolvimento das psicoses.
