The inauthenticity as an inflection in the Schwarz scheme

Abstract

This article has the purpose of rehearsing a reflection on the key place occupied by inauthenticity as a term of logical and sociocultural inflection in the formation of the regime of artistic-literary authorship in the country. Thus, as proposed in “Ao vencedor as batatas” and “Um mestre na periferia do capitalismo”, I examine the counterpart established by Schwarz between the assembling of the literary space in the country with the peculiarity proper to Machado's writing, when this cosmopolitanism and locality entwined in his discourse. In the final part of the text, I tracked suggestions about the conditions of possibility on the position of artistic authorship singled out in the figure of the same Machado de Assis.
