Abstract

The objective of the paper is to analyze the influence of political campaign funding on political party loyalty, as well as the role of pressures or lobby by supporters. The first part of the paper develops the concepts of political party and its role in the functioning of politics and public policy formulation. The second part exploits the notion of mandate entitlement in the relationship between candidates and political parties, since there have been a number of judicial actions on the subject in Brazil recently. The third part presents the party loyalty in relation to the political reform proposal. The fourth part analyzes the relation between political party funding and lobby. Finally, the fifth part conjugates the notions of lobby, public policies and analyzes the ways in which they may be consistent with the notion of political party loyalty.
