Abstract

Attempts were made to simplify the culture medium utilized for in vitro cultivation of A. suum larvae. Of all the supplements utilized to try to replace the fetal calf serum it was found that hemin plus any other protein supplement considerably increased both the larval survival and rate of developments. Egg albumin used with hemin or glicogen gave excelent results as a suppement to EAGLE'S minimum essential medium utilized in the in vitro culture of A. suum larvae.
