The construction of a social tool to promote women's health and rights

This article reports the construction of a strategy for coping with violence in the health area. It aimed to help women in situation of violence and health professionals to understand the problem and intervene based on the local reality. The Women's Guide: Actions to promote rights was elaborated based on conversations with women from a community in participative workshops. Its elaboration was oriented by the perspective of the social constructionism, which assumes gender violence as a collective phenomenon. The guide has being used in health services and is freely distributed to the users from the Brazilian Single Health System.Downloads
