Abstract

This article has the intention of moving forward the discussion about the existent relationship between Rome and its provinces. For that we use coin examples produced in the Iberian Peninsula, in the western side of the Empire, and in Syria and Palestine, in the eastern side of the Empire. Basing on the recurrent iconographical elements and the data from the inscriptions on these coins, we intend to show possible occupation patterns both in the East as in the West from the Imperial cult and from the elevation of the judicial and administrative status of the cities
