Abstract

The concept of letter has many meanings in the Lacanian theory. Sometimes it is anderstood as similar to the notion of significant, in other instances it is meant to have a very different meaning. The concept of letter is then approached as one of symbolic determination, or as similar to the concept of syntax, textuality, or combinatory logic. Taking into consideration the importance of the concept on the subjective constitution, on the significant formation and its effects and clinic application. This article intends to reflect about these three aspects of the concept: the letter and the inconscient writing, the letter and the subjective constitution and the literality clinic.
