The Life and Future of Criticism with Leyla Perrone-Moisés

This text aims to present various responses from Leyla Perrone-Moisés to inquiries about the role of the literary critic, their profession, and their relationship with others who share their activity. To achieve this, we traverse her monographic production, especially Altas literaturas, Mutações da literatura no século XXI, and Texto, crítica e escritura, seeking reflections woven by the author over almost five decades. These reflections, due to their insistence on literature, resonate with those who share her passions and can be useful to future critics. Therefore, this article does not intend to formulate a thesis but merely to narrate the history of some concerns and the answers that the reading of Perrone-Moisés' books suggests.
