Migrações contemporâneas e impasses identitários: algumas teorias e conceitos

Abstract

The contemporary migratory modalities, in the scenario of social transformation and economic globalization demand new debates on how to understand their multiple dimensions. This paper approaches some points about the new processes of contemporary migration. The way in which current-days migrants deal with the fl ying and transnational identities, with search for recognition of the diff erence and how to reconstitute their relations in more than one society. Scholars of contemporary phenomenon of diferents fi elds of knownledge emphasize various aspects: the changes status from immigrant to transmigrant, the impasses found in the conviviality with cultural diversity, with ethnic boundaries and the difficulties to build a single theory of migration.
