Abstract

“Emerging people , remaining Indians” are common expressions about ethnic groups concerned as unknown or extinct at the Northeast of Brazil. This article points some aspects of the reappearin g of the Tremernbé Indians at Ceara State, a phenomenon with full vitality at the 80’s and 90’s, and try to surpass the vision of which happens onto the boundary. The indigenous territory extends beyond the identified and delimited land.
