The aim of this paper is to stress a historiographical debate concerning the presence of the lower classes and its political practices during the so called Praia and Praieira government. It emphasizes the notion of incompleteness of the Brazilian Independence, the rearrangements of the political game due to the emergence of political and party power, and political quarrels as well.Downloads
