Abstract

1 - Morbidity data, obtained through official reporting, are known to be quite deficient. 2 - Several measures may be taken which will determine marked increase in the knowledge of cases of notifiable diseases without introducing any important change in the sanitary laws and regulations in force. 3 - Important among these measures are: a) educational campaign about the necessity and advantages of knowing cases chiefly among medicai students and medicai doctors; b) periodic revision of the list of notifiable diseases; c) better cooperation among ali the medicai and sanitary agencies concerned with the problem; d) better use of ali other sources of information. 4 - Better knowledge of cases should be followed by an immediate publication of morbidity data.
